It’s very difficult to find the right upholstered bed. Many cheaper companies use unsuitable textiles which will not stand the test of time, or do not make a feature of the fabric headboard or footboard.
So we’ve decided to let you in to a little trade secret: the telltale sign of a poorly made upholstered bed, especially upholstered French beds, is the way the fabric joins the wood. If the lines are clear, and the fabric is attached by beautiful ornate fixtures, the chances are that the upholstered bed is a quality one. Always check behind the headboard for staples or glue!
Now these are of course not the types of beds we stock here at Grosvenor Beds. All of our beds are of high end quality, and are more likely than not, handcrafted. The fabric is expertly sown, with luxurious padding filling the headboards which just adds that touch of luxury which is difficult to find elsewhere.
Our French cream upholstered bed is a particularly good example of a beautifully crafted bed. The fine, exposed oak wood looks contemporary and clean against the cream upholstered bed, and the hand carved details really set it above the rest.
